What it is

Ceramic Coating is a multi-layerable, clear, liquid nano-ceramic coating. When cured, this technology will transform itself on the surface as a permanent, yet durable and flexible glass shield. Ceramic Coating forms a permanent bond with the surface and will not wash off or break down. Ceramic Coating can only be removed by abrasion.

This protective coating can keep your paintwork free from damaging contaminants. Ceramic Coating can be applied in multiple layers which means the thickness of the coating can be increased with additional layers allowing for a thicker, more durable andharder coating (which can improve scratch resistance).

How it works

The Ceramic Coating is made up of silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide that form to create a type of glass shield. It makes your paint harder, more scratch resistant, and much better looking.

Before Ceramic Coating

This can depend on how you intend to use your vehicle. Most of our customers get Silver+. This includes 2 layers of Ceramic Coating 9H on your paint, 1 layer of top coat, 1 layer on plastic exterior, and 1 layer on wheel faces. The obvious difference between packages is how long the Ceramic Coating lasts. The less obvious difference is the level of durability, protection and how well it performs from day one.

Ceramic Coating is applied by our professionals who have been trained specifically in application. There are certain techniques and best practices that our team is well versed on to ensure the proper installation for the best performance and aesthetic appearance. Ceramic Coating coatings are only installed by authorized installers due to the complex nature of the installation. These are not consumer grade products.

Ceramic Coating does not help with rock chips. While many in the industry say it does, we want to be upfront and set proper expectations. It’s possible that a rock chip on the freeway can penetrate past the ceramic coating and into your vehicle’s original paint. The paint protection film we carry, XPEL, are what you need if you’re looking for the best solution on the market in rock chip prevention.

Installing Ceramic Coating

There are various steps that occur before the actual application of your Ceramic Coating package. First, we do a full vehicle decontamination to remove all surface contaminants. This time consuming process is important because without proper decontamination, different artifacts can get stuck underneath the Ceramic Coating or scratch the paint during the application process. The technique to applying the Ceramic Coating is time sensitive if the package you get requires multiple layers of Ceramic Coating for the best performance.
